LalaFox Beauty - The Latest In Drugstore Beauty Brands

If you haven't heard already Walmart (select stores) has a new, very affordable beauty brand that hit shelves pretty recently. Lalafox Beauty is a beauty and skincare brand made in Korea! I have always wanted to test out some Korean makeup and was happy to find this at my local Walmart. This brand doesn't have a website nor is it available on so, unfortunately, if this isn't available at a store near you won't be able to test it out. You can follow them on instagram for updates though!

My first thought of the brand was that it looked really sleek and I just fell in love with their name and logo. They don't offer a lot right now ( I assume more is to come in the future ) but, I did manage to pick up their 'second skin' foundation, 'air' primer, 'color fix' lipstick in Jin, and their 'touch up' volume mascara. They also offered face masks which came in a pack of 8, brow products, a cushion foundation, and lip tints.

lalafox beauty air primer review

The Primer

Packaging: It's a squeeze tube and you get 30 ml or 1 fl oz. This is the only product that I saw that didn't have black packaging so it really stood out on the stand.

Scent: It has a light perfume-y scent, you'll barely notice it.

Color: This primer has a bit of color that matches the packaging but once applied it blends out clear.

Application: I applied the primer with my fingers first going in circular motion then patting the primer in. It has a silky finish that blurred out any fine lines on my face.

Wear: It works great with their 'second skin' foundation. My makeup lasted all day long and looked better as the day went by.

Price: This is available it select Walmarts for $10.

lalafox beauty second skin foundation

The Foundation

Packaging: I love the black packaging with white font. At first glance this looked like a stick foundation but it actually comes with a pump! You can find the name of the foundation on the top and bottom.  You get 30 ml or 1 fluid oz.

Color: I chose 'rosy ivory' which is exactly what it sounds like - a pink undertone color. The color is not overly pink though it really is a perfect match!

Scent: It has a perfume-y smell to it. I can't really put my finger on it but don't worry its not over powering! I actually love how it smells haha!

lala fox beauty foundation review

Application: I applied this foundation with a really dense brush. I would say its more of a medium coverage that can be built up to be full coverage. Its really creamy and goes over any imperfections without highlighting them. It's moisturizing as well, but not oily. I have oily skin and would recommend this to anyone with oily skin.

Finish: Semi-matte. You will not look shiny but you will have a nice glow.

Wear: In combination with the primer this lasts all day long! My makeup looks better throughout the day.

Price: You can purchase yours at Walmart for $10.

lala fox beauty mascara review

The Mascara

Packaging: Once again, black and sleek with white font. You have the brands logo on one side and the name on the other.

Color: I wouldn't say it's the blackest of black but its pretty black on the eyes.

The brush: It's not too big nor too small. You can get most of your top lashes with one swipe but it's not too big to get your bottom lashes.

Application / Formula: It applied really smooth with no clumps. The formula was creamier/more wet than most of my other mascaras I own.

Wear: There was no clumping or fall out.

Price: $6 - which in drugstore terms it is on the more affordable side.

The Lipstick

Packaging: One more time: Black glossy packaging haha! Which I really can't complain I do love it! You can find the name of the lipstick on the top and bottom of the package. And, it seems to contain the average amount of product.

Color: I chose the shade 'Jin' which is a rosy pink with blue undertones.

Scent: Out of everything the lipstick has the strongest scent. It smells like roses to me, almost like a Chanel lipstick.

Application: The lipstick went on smoothly and it is very pigmented! It has a glossy lipstick so if you're more into the matte look then this is not the lipstick for you.

Wear: It lasted a couple of hours after application.

Price: $6 which is really affordable for a lipstick!

Final Thoughts

I really enjoyed this brand. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and can't wait to see what else they have to offer in the future! Their prices are really affordable and it gives you a chance to test out a Korean beauty brand without having to either pay for shipping or drive a long distance to purchase. I live in a small town so having this available at our local Walmart is really convenient!

Have you tried this brand yet? What are your thoughts?

I Challenged Myself To Drink More Water In A Week And The Results Are Amazing !

I recently stumbled across Huda's ( blog post on doubling her water intake for a week and decided to take the challenge myself. I was intrigued by her results and wanted to see how my body would react to drinking more water daily. We all know that drinking water has its many benefits but it can be so hard to drink it sometimes. So, I thought that I would challenge myself for the week and drink mostly water with a few soft drinks or juices in between.

drink water to lose weight fast

The Challenge

Drink about 3-3.5 liters of water a day. Side note: I do drink soft drinks almost every day (I know bad!!!!) but, I do limit myself to just one which I know isn't that great! But, I was hoping this challenge would help eliminate soft drinks in my daily routine. Continue reading to find out if it did help or not....

drink water to lose weight

The Week

Day 1: I drank about 3 liters this day and surprisingly I wasn't running to the restroom every hour lol! But, at the end of the day I didn't notice any difference in my skin or weight. I did have one soft drink this day since I didn't want to quit cold turkey.

Day 2: I once again drank about 3 liters of water this day and one soda. This was a 'cheat day' since I did eat pizza for lunch and had a slice of cake so, I wasn't surprised when I checked my skin and didn't notice much of a difference. My skin was a tad bit less red than normal though so, at least that was a bit of progress for me.

Day 3: I had about 2.5 liters of water this day. I'll admit it was a bit harder to drink mostly water today BUT I did not crave nor drink any sodas this day! :D My skin and weight looked the same as day 2.

Side Note: I drank plain water I did not add any fruits nor drink mixes! But, I don't see why you couldn't especially if you're not a huge fan of plain water. I think adding fruits or lemon would give your body and skin more benefits! :)

Day 4: For some reason on this day I just couldn't get myself to drink a whole lot of water, or anything really! I don't know if my body was hydrated enough or what but I drank about 1.5 liters this day.

Day 5: I drank about 3.5 liters this day. I kinda forced myself I guess you could say haha! But, I did start to notice my skin becoming less red and a bit smoother. I did get a little zit but nothing major! Honestly, I was expecting to get more since my body was going through a small detox.

Day 6: This day was tough! I had to use the restroom every hour on the hour. But, once again my skin had started to look more refreshed. I didn't even have any flakiness on my face. (I have oily skin but since its overly oily I do get flakiness.)

Day 7: By this day I was so amazed at the results that I am now challenging myself to drink more water every day!

drinking water benefits

The Results

I thought this challenge was going to be a bit more difficult but, truly it wasn't. I didn't eat the best this past week but drinking a lot more water really suppressed my appetite, therefore, I ate less of everything and didn't snack as much. It may not seem like much but I lost 3 pounds! Remember, this was only from drinking more water, eating whatever I wanted, and minimal exercise like walking ( I exercised 4 out of the 7 days). When it comes to my skin: it was a lot less red than day 1, I had less texture, less acne spots, and some of my acne scars are starting to clear up. I am not challenging myself to keep drinking more and more water everyday.

Now its your turn to challenge yourself to drink more water!

Glossier's Wowder And Cloud Paint Review

I have seen Glossier pop up just about everywhere and decided to give the brand a try. When I went to their page I was drawn to their newer makeup product which is their 'Wowder' finishing powder and their blushes which they call 'cloud paint'. I like how the brand was very sleek and fresh looking along with some really decent pricing.

Packaging: The 'Wowder' comes in a small jar with 0.25 oz of product. I love the baby pink and the bold 'Wowder' print on the top. Once opened the jar has meshing in the middle where the product comes out and the lid has a what I call a 'stopper' that closes directly onto the mesh part preventing any product fall out and/or mess!

Color: I chose light/medium thinking it would deposit some color but, honestly it didn't deposit any color making it more of a translucent powder for me. I can't complain though!

Application: I purchased the 'Wowder Duo' that comes with a brush and once I applied it to the skin I did notice a difference. My fine lines were blurred! My pores looked the same but I was really glad that it did not emphasize any imperfections. The powder is very fine and felt very smooth.

Wear: My skin looked flawless all day long! Also, my makeup stayed put all day! This stuff is AMAZING!!

The Brush: You can choose the buy the wowder with or without the brush and I, of course, chose to purchase it with the brush since it recommends using it. The brush seems to be soft but, I really don't think its all that necessary. I noticed that even when I applied with a regular powder brush I got the same effects.

Price: Like I said I got the 'Wowder Duo' which included the powder and a brush which was $35 for both. Side note: The Wowder itself is $22 and the brush is $20.

Cloud Paint

Packaging: I was really drawn to this packaging. It looked so sleek but yet so cute and so cool at the same time! I love how the end piece has the color of the blush and the shade name. You get 0.33 oz of product in each tube.

Color: I chose the shade 'puff' which is more of a baby pink because I wanted that 'natural' blush look.

Application: I love how creamy this product is and how much color pay off you get. It is also so easy to blend and looks really natural on the skin. The product itself is not greasy at all like some other cream blushes I have owned in the past. You can really sheer the product out or build it up as much as you'd like!

cloud paint in shade puff by glossier review

Wear: This is the first time a blush has every really lasted all day. It looked flawless from the second I put it on to the second I took it off! I am obsessed with these that I'm going back for the rest of the shades haha!

Price: The blushes are $18 each! Which may seem like much but you seriously need a pea sized amount when applying.

Have you tried anything from Glossier yet? What do you recommend?

Make Dry Shampoo More Effective

Hello! Today I want to share some HAIR TIPS! Just a fun fact (not mentioned in my 'about me' blogpost) I went to cosmetology school and have a few tips and tricks on hair that I can share you with you and today we're gonna talk about dry shampoo! You see, some of us use dry shampoo wrong or think 'oh! I don't get greasy hair so I don't need dry shampoo!' but there are different uses to dry shampoo than just soaking up the oils on your scalp. Keep reading to find out more...

dry shampoo tips tricks

Use It At Night

Spraying dry shampoo at night will help soak up all of the excess oil leaving you with less greasy hair in the morning. The product will work through the night and when you wake up you can easily run your fingers through your hair and be on your way.

Use Your Fingers

Don't just spray and go. Really get in there with your fingertips and work the product in. By working the product into the scalp you will get more effectiveness.

Texture, Volume, Hold

Spray some throughout your hair for added texture. This technique works really well for that 'beachy' look.

Hold your fingers under the hair along your crown and mist some for added volume.

Just like using hairspray for this technique you can use dry shampoo to hold your bobby pins in place. Just spray your bobby pins before inserting into hair.

how to get the most out of dry shampoo

How To Apply

You want to apply dry shampoo in a more strategic way rather than just spraying and going on with your day/night. Take small sections and spray (holding the can at least 3 inches from the head) into your roots. By taking smaller sections you are sure to cover your whole head and making the dry shampoo more effective. Of course, I suggest using it at night for better results but, wait at least 2-3 minutes before brushing your hair and let the product sink in as much as possible! Also, try to do smaller spritz at a time rather than a constant spray. For some reason this technique helps the product come out of the can a lot better giving you more product with each spritz.

Do you have any techniques you'd like to share? What are you favorite hair products?
